Aunt Sue, I can’t believe you are gone. For my 39 years, you have always been such a strong presence in my life. My first memory of you sums up the love you have always showed your family and those close to you. I was a little boy, it was Thanksgiving, or Christmas and I was horsing around in the living room when I fell and cracked my head on the brick fireplace. You came running like a flash towards me from the dining room. I still remember that image of you. I’ll also always remember the sleepovers with Kim and Dave at your house in Shelton, the family dinners at Grammy’s house. Also when you came with Uncle Ed all the way to France for my wedding to Kristine. It was so important to me. You always made sure you were there in the most important moments of my life, as well as the normal ones too. The loved you showed me as a nephew was maybe only surpassed by the love you showed my two daughters, first Iris, then Alma. When I told them you were gone, despite the distance and only seeing you a once or twice a year now, Iris said “but I love Aunt Sue”. Yes Iris, sometimes those you love leave you too early. Goodbye to my beloved Aunt Sue
